Versatility in sunny to lightly shaded positions
Excellent performance in both pots and garden beds

Growing & Caring for Camellia 'High Fragrance'

Camellia 'High Fragrance' thrives in well-drained acidic soil, protected from harsh afternoon sun and strong winds. Mulch well and keep roots cool with regular watering while your plant establishes. Feed with a specialist camellia or acid-loving plant fertiliser in early spring, and lightly prune after flowering to encourage bushy new growth. This camellia pairs beautifully with other acid-loving plants, particularly those offering complementary textures and colours.

Complementary Plants for Your Camellia Garden

Enhance your scented garden with related varieties and companions. Consider blending other camellias for a long season of colour, like Camellia 'Ballet Dancer', which boasts elegant ruffled blooms, the deep-hued Camellia 'Black Lace', or the crisp form of Camellia 'Black Tie'. For subtle contrasting tones, Camellia 'Brushfields Yellow' and the playful Camellia 'Buttons and Bows' add a cheerful note.

Camellias also partner gracefully with other evergreens and flowering shrubs. Try Pittosporum Mellow Yellow for foliage contrast, the classic elegance of Gardenia Fragrant Star, delicate Azalea Princess Maud, or add seasonal pops of colour with Fuchsia 'Codex' and Hibiscus 'Dainty Pink'.
