Why Buy Rose Plants for Your Garden?

Few plants are as rewarding as roses. By selecting to buy rose plants for your home, you’re choosing years of delightful blooms in an array of colours and forms. Roses are surprisingly hardy and thrive in New Zealand’s climate, making them a brilliant choice for both novice gardeners and experienced enthusiasts. Their versatility means you can enjoy them as hedges, feature shrubs, or in mixed borders alongside perennials.

Many of our customers love Rose Blackberry Nip for its rich purple blooms and intoxicating fragrance, perfect as a statement rose bush. Alternatively, for low-maintenance groundcover, Rose 'Flower Carpet White' offers masses of pure white flowers over a lush carpet of healthy foliage through the season.

Choosing the Best Rose Plants for Your Space

When you set out to buy rose plants, consider your space and the intended purpose. Do you want show-stopping blooms for cutting? A perfumed hedge along your walkway? Or maybe a container rose for a sunny patio? We recommend exploring a few diverse varieties to maximise your floral impact.

For gardeners who enjoy blending roses with other perennials, why not pair roses with Hemerocallis Rose Cherub (Rose Daylily) for extraordinary contrasting blooms? You can also add height and movement to your borders with Gaura Steffi Dark Rose. If you’re interested in drought-tolerant selections for a low-water garden, Portulaca Pazzaz Sunset (Moss Rose Plant) provides cheerful, vibrant flowers that thrive in sun-soaked spots.

Caring for Your New Rose Plants

After you buy rose plants, giving them the right start ensures seasons of performance. Select a spot with plenty of sunlight and well-drained soil. Water deeply during dry periods and add a layer of mulch to keep roots cool and moist. Regular feeding with a balanced rose fertiliser will encourage prolific blooms, while a gentle winter prune will keep your plants healthy and shapely.

All our roses are grown and dispatched with care, ready to thrive in your garden. From fragrant climbers to compact shrub roses, you’ll find the perfect varieties to delight your senses year after year.
