This variety grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site, and is tolerant of cool climates, frost, and short periods of dry. “Sir Edmund Hillary” is commonly trained along a fence or other support structure, added to a mixed planting, included in a cottage garden, or used where a colourful and long flowering plant is required.
