The common name arises from the tiny plantlets which are borne along mature fronds and can develop into separate plants. This stunning plant grows to about 30 cm tall and the same wide. Asplenium bulbiferum is most frequently grown indoors as a potted plant but works equally well outdoors where it is planted beneath shrubs and trees or planted around living areas.
