Meryta sinclairii, commonly known as the Puka Tree or Puka Plant, is a NZ native shrub with a lush and tropical appearance. It bears large and glossy, dark green leaves and grows quickly to about 5 m tall and 4 m wide. Puka are great plants for coastal and tropical gardens and is also commonly used as a backdrop for smaller plants. It is also well suited to being used for screening or planted around pool or barbecue areas. Meryta sinclairii can also be grown as a potted plant indoors for 2-3 years (or more) before being moved into the garden.

Monstera deliciosa, commonly known as the Fruit Salad Plant, is a tropical plant grown for its amazing foliage. It produces large, leathery, glossy, heart-shaped leaves 25–90 cm long by 25–75 cm broad with distinct, large holes. It grows to 3 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Monstera deliciosa is commonly used in tropical plantings, grown as an indoor plant, used in foyer plantings, or planted around pool and barbecue areas where conditions favour.
