Tradescantia zebrina
Tradescantia zebrina is a popular houseplant owing to its colourful foliage and trailing nature. It hosts foliage that is variegated purple and silver with a green undertone. The leaves are held off creeping stems which will trail down the side of a pot or the like. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to 10 cm tall and about 50 cm wide, performing best when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered spot that is free from frost. Any wind or brushing against can easily knock the stems off, though it will regrow again quickly if that occurs.
