Corynocarpus laevigatus, commonly known as Karaka, is a handsome, NZ native tree that features large and glossy, green leaves. The lush foliage is adorned with cream-green flowers in spring which result in fragrant and fleshy, orange fruit in summer as it grows to 8 m tall and 5 m wide. Corynocarpus laevigatus is commonly included in coastal gardens, planted as a screen or informal hedge, or grown as a lovely specimen. NB: any plantings must consider the risk to children and animals.

Podocarpus totara Aurea, commonly known as Golden Totara, features golden foliage, which is made up of short, needle-like leaves that are held densely. It typically grows to 10 m tall and 3 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Golden Totara is commonly included in a mixed planting in a medium-large garden, used in revegetation and native plantings, grown as a specimen, or trimmed into a hedge.
