Acer palmatum Shirazz is a smaller variety of Japanese Maple and features a rich display of delicate and interestingly coloured foliage. New leaves emerge cherry red in spring, ages to become variegated with pink and green, then turn scarlet red in autumn before falling. It grows with a narrow and upright habit to about 2.5 m tall and 1.5 m wide. Acer Shirazz makes for a showy specimen and is ideal for adding to a mixed planting, planting around outdoor living areas, using as a backdrop for smaller plants, or including anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.
Acer palmatum dissectum Orangeola is an impressive, small, Japanese Maple featuring a rich display of interestingly colourful, weeping foliage. The finely cut leaves emerge bright orange-red in spring and retain an orange undertone as they fade to green-purple through summer. It typically grows to 2 m tall and the same wide. Acer Orangeola makes for a lovely specimen and is well suited to including in a mixed planting, maintaining in a container, or planting around outdoor living areas.
