Sedum dasyphyllum, also known as Corsican Stonecrop or Sedum dasyphyllum minor, is a petite and resilient succulent prized in New Zealand gardens for its attractive blue-grey foliage and mat-forming habit. Perfect for rock gardens, containers, and green roofs, this charming sedum is loved by beginners and seasoned growers alike for its adaptability and low maintenance requirements. Its tiny, rounded leaves create a dense, textured carpet, turning pinkish in response to sun and cool weather. During summer, Sedum dasyphyllum rewards you with delicate star-shaped white flowers that are a magnet for pollinators.
Corsican Stonecrop
This variety of Sedum is grown for its colourful foliage and creeping growth habit. It forms a carpet of small and succulent, blue-green and purple foliage. These are held as clusters on stems that creep across the ground to spring up new clusters. Tiny, star shaped, yellow flowers are borne through summer. It typically grows to 5 cm tall and 25 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate light frost only but will survive extended dry periods. Minor is commonly grown in a container, used in rock gardens, included in tropical and pool gardens, or grown along the edge of a path where it migrate outwards.
