Leptospermum Red Damask, commonly known as Tea Tree or Manuka, is a popular, NZ native shrub grown for its impressive flowering. It produces masses of double, dark pink-red flowers with a darker centre during spring and summer. The foliage comprises small, dark green leaves and releases a pleasant fragrance when brushed against as it grows to 2 m tall and 1 m wide. Leptospermum Red Damask is commonly used as a backdrop for smaller plants, included in a mixed planting, trimmed into a hedge, or planted around outdoor living areas.

Photinia Super Red is one of the more popular hedging plants due to its very colourful foliage. New growth is bright red and ages to become mid-dark green which results in a glossy plant with dual colouring through spring and summer. This quick growing evergreen can reach 3 m tall and 2.5 m wide but is commonly trimmed to sizes significantly less than this. Photinia Super Red is commonly grown as an attractive and dense hedge but is also well suited to being used for shelter and screening, and as a backdrop for smaller plants.
