Adiantum aethiopicum, commonly known as the Maidenhair Fern, is grown for its attractive and soft-looking foliage. The mid-green fronds emerge from a clump and are held both densely and gracefully. In the right conditions this NZ native will eventually reach 50 cm tall and the same wide, but it often only gets to just 25 cm tall and the same wide when grown indoors in a pot. Adiantum aethiopicum is commonly grown indoors as a potted plant and is well suited to bathrooms, kitchens, and other humid areas.

It grows as a clump to about 30 cm tall and 35 cm wide. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is grown on a well-drained, sheltered site in partial shade.
