Clematis paniculata, commonly known as Sweet Autumn Clematis or NZ Clematis, is a NZ native climber that features large, dark green leaves which serve as a lovely backdrop to the white flowers in spring. This evergreen typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide, but can be trimmed as necessary. Clematis paniculata is commonly grown on fences, trellises, or over arches and is particularly well suited to cottage and “white” gardens or for planting around an outdoor living area.
