Cornus Cherokee Chief is a small, deciduous tree grown for its impressive flowering and attractive form. Masses of rose-red flowers are borne in spring just as the new foliage begins to emerge. The leaves emerge green with bronze tones in spring, age to become dark green, then develop colourful shades of red in autumn before falling as it grows to 12 m tall and 7 m wide. Cornus Cherokee Chief makes a lovely specimen and is a great choice for adding to a mixed planting, using as backdrop for smaller plants, or using in an avenue planting.
Prunus Blireiana is a variety of Flowering Plum that features masses of fragrant, rose-pink, double blossoms in spring just before the foliage emerges. New foliage in spring is a distinctive dark purple-red colour, which ages to claret red, and remains this colour until falling in autumn. This deciduous tree grows with a broad and rounded crown to about 6 m tall and 5 m wide. Prunus Blireiana is commonly used in avenue plantings, grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or included in Japanese and cottage gardens.
