Fagus sylvatica 'Purple Fountain'
The Purple Fountain beech is a variety of European Beech tree that features colourful foliage and weeping branches. The glossy leaves emerge deep purple in spring, age to purple-green in summer, then develop yellow and orange tones in autumn before falling. It grows with a somewhat columnar habit to about 10 m tall and 4 m wide. Fagus sylvatica Purple Fountain makes for a fantastic specimen and is also commonly added to a mixed planting or can be maintained in a courtyard garden.
