Commonly known as the Norfolk Pine, this is a large, evergreen tree that grows with a distinctive, pyramidal shape. The fresh green leaves are narrow, sharply pointed, and held densely. It grows with an upright and somewhat broad habit to about 25 m tall and 10 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of cool climates, frost, dry periods, and coastal conditions. The Norfolk Pine is a great tree for shelter or screening, avenue planting, or growing as a specimen in a large garden. Young trees are often grown indoors as a potted plant.
