Crassula ovata, commonly known as the Money Plant or Money Tree, is a succulent that grows as an attractive small shrub. It carries fleshy, green leaves with a red edge, and may develop yellow tones when grown in full sun and during cooler periods. Mildly fragrant, white flowers are borne during summer as it grows to 1 m tall and the same wide. Crassula ovata is often used as a houseplant but can equally be grown outdoors provided it is protected from frost. It is well suited to rock gardens, Mediterranean themed gardens, pool areas, or planting to border an entrance.
