Ligustrum ovalifolium Aureum, commonly known as the Golden Privet, is a fast-growing, compact shrub grown for its form, foliage, and flowers. It grows as rounded bush carrying leaves that are variegated golden yellow and green. The foliage is adorned with masses of white flowers during spring which literally transform the plant as it grows to 3 m tall and the same wide. The Golden Privet is often clipped into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants.
