Libertia formosa, commonly known as the Chilean Iris or as Libertia chilensis, is an herbaceous perennial is grown for its foliage and flowers. Stems bearing clusters of pure white flowers rise above the dark green-yellow foliage through spring and summer. The Chilean Iris typically grows to 60 cm tall and 50 cm wide but will spread further than this as the roots send up new shoots. Libertia formosa is commonly mass planted in borders or as a groundcover.
