Quercus ilex
Quercus ilex, commonly known as the Holm Oak or Evergreen Oak, is an evergreen tree with lush foliage. The dark green leaves are glossy and complemented with small, yellow-green flowers in spring which result in acorns in autumn. The Holm Oak will typically grow to 15 m tall and 10 m wide with a rounded, dense crown. Quercus ilex is often grown as a specimen in large gardens and parks, but is also well suited to Mediterranean themed gardens.

Garden Fertiliser
The Plant Company’s preferred general garden fertiliser is YaraMila Complex. This fertiliser is particularly suitable for use on home gardens and is widely used in the horticultural industry. It contains nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and sulphur as well as a range of trace elements, including boron, iron, manganese and zinc. The NPK rating is 12:5:15. Use this garden fertiliser at approximately 25 grams per square metre every 6-12 months (roughly a handful across 4 m²). For potted plants, a controlled-release fertiliser should be used instead.
