Michelia Lemon Fragrant grows as a small and shapely tree carrying glossy, dark green leaves which are attractive in their own right. Velvet buds are borne through winter and spring and open to reveal exquisite, cream-white flowers with a light, lemon fragrance. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 3 m wide. Michelia Lemon Fragrant is commonly grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting, clipped into a hedge, included in a cottage or “white” garden, or used as a backdrop for other plantings.
