Sequoiadendron giganteum, commonly known as the Giant Redwood, is a large, evergreen tree and aptly named for its red coloured wood. It features feathery, dark green foliage which is held on broad branches emerging off a central trunk as it grows to about 60 m tall and 20 m wide over several hundred years. The Giant Redwood is commonly grown as a specimen, planted to provide shelter, or used for timber production.
Cordyline Torbay Dazzler is a variety of Cabbage Tree grown for its striking foliage and great form. The strap-like leaves are variegated with cream and green stripes, with new foliage emerging a prominent cream colour. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 1.5 m wide. Cordyline Torbay Dazzler makes a lovely specimen and is commonly planted in clusters, added to tropical gardens, included in mixed plantings, used to line a driveway or entrance, planted to soften a bland wall, or maintained in a container.
