Evergreen Alder Hedge

Alnus jorullensis

5 from 1 customers

Alnus jorullensis, commonly known as the Evergreen Alder or Mexican Alder, is a fast-growing tree that produces a broad crown of open and drooping branches. The branches host dark green leaves with serrated edges and while it will generally be evergreen, in cooler climates it may become deciduous or semi-deciduous as it reaches 10 m tall and 6 m wide. Alnus jorullensis is commonly grown as a specimen, used for screening and shelter, trimmed into a hedge, or planted in the wetter areas of a garden or alongside water features such as ponds and streams.

Sure, Aesculus Briotii and Aesculus hippocastanum are crowd-pleasers, but Prunus Felix Jury, Camellia Water Lily, and Hydrangea Piamina are quietly making a name for themselves.
