“Blue Ice” is a variety of Eucalyptus grown for its colourful foliage. The leaves on juvenile trees are rounded, powdery-blue, and held densely. As the tree ages the leaves become grey-blue and the foliage is held less densely. This evergreen tree grows with an upright and open habit to about 20 m tall and 8 m wide though can be trimmed as necessary. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site but will grow on pretty much any soil, except extreme wet. It is also tolerant of cool climates, wind, moderate frost, and extended periods of dry. “Baby Blue” is commonly grown as a specimen, planted for shelter, or included in a mixed planting in a large garden. The foliage from juvenile trees is commonly used in floral arrangements. This is a very versatile and fantastic looking tree.
