Brunfelsia Fragrant Summer, known as the plant Called Yesterday Today and Tomorrow, is a compact and colourful evergreen shrub renowned its attractive and changing flowers. It grows as a rounded cushion of purple-green leaves to about 1 m tall and the same wide. Through spring and summer masses of sweetly fragrant, pansy like flowers open purple-blue then fade to white. Brunfelsia Fragrant Summer is commonly grown as an informal hedge, added to a mixed planting, planted around outdoor living areas, used in cottage gardens, or mass planted alongside a path or on a bank.
Tulbaghia Dark Star, commonly known as the Society Garlic plant, is grown for its showy and fragrant flowers. Clusters of lilac-pink flowers are borne from summer until autumn on stems that rise above the foliage. These are held above the narrow, dark green, strap like foliage which releases a garlic odour when bruised. This herbaceous perennial grows as a clump to about 40 cm tall and 50 cm wide. The Society Garlic plant is commonly used in cottage gardens, included in borders and herb gardens, maintained in a container, or mass planted for an impressive show.
