Cornus capitata, commonly referred to as Dogwood, is a small tree grown for its foliage, impressive flowers, and interesting fruits. The lush foliage is mid-green and provides a lovely backdrop to masses of single, white flowers in summer as it grows to 8 m tall and 5 m wide. Cornus capitata is commonly included in a mixed planting in a larger garden, growing as a specimen, included in cottage or “white” gardens, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants.
