Sequoiadendron giganteum, commonly known as the Giant Redwood, is a large, evergreen tree and aptly named for its red coloured wood. It features feathery, dark green foliage which is held on broad branches emerging off a central trunk as it grows to about 60 m tall and 20 m wide over several hundred years. The Giant Redwood is commonly grown as a specimen, planted to provide shelter, or used for timber production.
Robinia Bellas Gold, commonly known as the Black Locust tree, is a deciduous tree grown for its colourful foliage and lovely form. The fern-like foliage emerges light yellow-green in spring, ages to become golden yellow, then turns varying shades of yellow in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 4 m tall and the same wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Robinia Bellas Gold is commonly grown as a specimen, planted to border an entrance, or included in a mixed planting.
