Ceanothus 'Blue Sapphire' is a popular variety that becomes smothered in pretty, blue flowers in spring, which are held off arching stems. The stems on this Californian Lilac host small and glossy, dark green leaves which are aesthetic in their own right as it grows to 1 m tall and 2 m wide. Ceanothus 'Blue Sapphire' is commonly used in border plantings, added to mixed plantings, included in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used as a groundcover.

Festuca Shades of Blue, commonly known as Blue Fescue, is a hardy and highly ornamental, blue grass. It features fine and slender, blue foliage and grows as a rounded tuft to about 25 cm tall and the same wide. Feathery, light green flowers with a purple tinge rise above the foliage from spring through summer and age to brown.
