Banksia Ericifolia Heath Banksia

Banksia ericifolia (Heath Banksia)

Heath Banksia

Banksia ericifolia, commonly known as the Heath Banksia or Heath-Leaved Banksia, is a shrub grown for both its foliage and flowers. In autumn it bears orange-red flowers, up to 30 cm long, which are complemented with fine, dark green foliage. The flowers are great for attracting birds and provide an amazing show. It can grow up to 3 m tall and the same wide but more often only reaches 1–2 m tall and wide, and can be contained with trimming. Banksia ericifolia is a great plant for adding to mixed plantings, planting for autumn colour, or growing as an informal hedge.
