Coprosma virescens, also known as Mingimingi or Mikimiki, is a distinctive New Zealand native shrub characterised by its dense, divaricating form, featuring tangled, coppery-orange branches and tiny, green leaves. Growing up to 2 metres tall and 1.5 metres wide, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, tolerating drought, wind, frost, and coastal conditions. This low-maintenance shrub is ideal for hedging, alpine gardens, and ecological restoration projects.
