Acer griseum is a spectacular variety of Maple owing to its lovely form and foliage. It grows to about 12 m tall and 8 m wide with an open branched habit which gives it a light and airy appearance. Small leaves emerge green in spring and remain this colour until autumn when they develop brilliant-red and orange tones before falling. Acer griseum is suited to parks and larger gardens where it is often used as a specimen with the added advantage of providing great shade.
