Ajuga Catlins Giant (Ajuga reptans Catlin's Giant)
Ajuga Catlins Giant, commonly known as Bugleweed, Common Bugle, or Carpet Bugle, forms a mat of glossy, burgundy leaves as it grows to 25 cm tall and 80 cm wide. Stems carrying showy clusters of deep blue flowers rise above the foliage in spring. Ajuga Catlins Giant is commonly used as a ground cover, planted around the base of larger tree and shrubs, used in shaded areas, added to cottage gardens, or maintained in a container.
Liquidambar styraciflua Burgundy (Sweet Gum Tree)
Liquidambar styraciflua Burgundy is a variety of Sweetgum tree that is grown for its form and fantastic autumn colours. This popular ornamental tree features lush foliage that is mid-green but develops impressive shades of burgundy-red in autumn before falling. It grows quickly with a pyramidal shape to 15 m tall and 8 m wide, but can be trimmed as necessary. Liquidambar Burgundy makes a fantastic specimen in a park or large garden, and is well suited to avenue planting.
