It typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. Cistus ladanifer, commonly known as the Crimson-Spot Rockrose, this is a low growing shrub featuring dark green foliage and lovely flowers. Pure white flowers with dark crimson spots are borne from late spring through summer. The contrast in colours between the flowers and foliage is quite aesthetic. It typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of coastal conditions, extended dry periods, and moderate frost once established. Cistus ladanifer is often used for adding interest and texture to the garden.
