“Naylors Blue” is a fast-growing conifer featuring blue-green foliage that becomes a darker blue in winter. This vigorous evergreen can grow 30 m tall and 8 m wide but is generally contained with trimming. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site and will grow on almost any soil, barring extreme wet or dry. It tolerates coastal and exposed positions, frost, cool climates, and is drought tolerant once established. “Naylors Blue” is used extensively on farms and larger properties as a windbreak, for screening, and to provide shelter for livestock. In the home garden it is often used as a tall and wide, formal hedge which will create screening and serves as an excellent and colourful backdrop for other plantings. For hedging space plants 1 m apart.
