Alectryon excelsus
Alectryon excelsus, commonly known as Titoki or NZ Oak, is a NZ native, evergreen tree growing to about 8 m tall and 3 m wide. It carries glossy, green foliage which becomes interspersed with sprays of woolly, rust coloured flowers during summer. The spreading habit of Titoki makes it a lovely shade tree and for this reason it is often grown as a specimen or avenue tree. Alectryon excelsus responds well to trimming and makes for an effective screen or large hedge.

Cryptomeria japonica
Cryptomeria japonica, commonly known as Japanese Cedar or Japanese Red Cedar, is a large, evergreen tree that can reach 70 m tall with a 4 m diameter trunk. It carries needle-like, dark green foliage that has a distinctive soft appearance. The wood from this tree is extremely fragrant, insect resistant, of low density, and is often used for making staves, tubs, casks, and furniture. Cryptomeria japonica Cedar makes a fantastic specimen tree and is often used as a windbreak on a farm or lifestyle block with the added option of timber production.
